| Effective January 1, 2005 all personnel in BIW manufacturing areas, including both employees and non-employees, are required to wear ANSI Z41 approved footwear. To be certain that your footwear complies with ANSI Z41 requirements, look for the ANSI Z41 designation and the impact (I) and compression resistance (C) codes on the label attached to the shoe as shown in the illustration. | |
| For a list of some local Maine retailers who stock ANSI Z41 compliant footwear,
click here. Several of these stores have agreed to provide a discount to BIW employees. However, many stores carry these products and this list is neither all inclusive nor does it imply BIW endorsement of any one retailer over another. The BIW Employee’s Store will continue to carry ANSI Z41 footwear and offers a payroll deduction plan for interested employees.
