BIW’s Environmental, Health & Safety Policy includes a commitment to prevent pollution. BIW has incorporated pollution prevention into our everyday business practices.
BIW has always been a leader in the area of pollution prevention beginning in the 1930’s with the establishment of a metal recycling program and carrying through today with the application of cutting edge technology. BIW makes every reasonable effort to prevent pollution, and to continually improve processes to reduce our environmental footprint.
BIW utilizes several methods to prevent pollution including Product Substitution, Technology, and Best Management Practices. BIW has pollution prevention programs for Control of Air Quality, Control of Water Quality and to Manage Solid Waste.
