Detailed Description of Work:

 

Support the Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) group within the Integrated Logistics Support organization:

·         Perform Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analyses. Examples of these analyses include Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), RMA Allocations, Assessments & Analysis (RMA-AAA), equipment Mean-time-between-failure (MTBF), Mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) analyses, and equipment Failure Analysis Reports (FARs).

·         Assist Maintenance Analysts in calculating Maintenance Workload estimates for BIW-assigned Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) equipment, including Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) estimates.

·         Review vendor-prepared RMA analyses and test reports. Monitor/approve related vendor R&M tests & demonstrations

·         Determine final equipment maintenance requirements utilizing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis.

·         Interface with Functional/System Engineers to resolve equipment/system reliability issues, including possible redesign.

·         Track and analyze equipment failures, including interaction with buyers & suppliers to support Failure Review Boards.

·         Support R&M efforts in all BIW ship programs as necessary (DDG-51, DDG-1000, LCS, DDG-Mod)

 

 

Qualifications for Position:

 

·         BS in Engineering required. Minimum 5 years related technical experience preferred.

·         Strong knowledge of shipboard equipment preferred, including knowledge of operation and maintenance procedures.

·         Excellent communication skills required, both written and oral, due to interfacing with various contractors and NavSea.

·         MS Office software proficiency required. Reliability-specific software (AvSim, Reliability Workbench) experience a plus.

·         Strong analytical/organizational skills required, plus ability to troubleshoot problems, develop and implement solutions.

·         Working knowledge of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) highly preferred. Navy Level II RCM certification a plus.

·         Working knowledge/understanding of Navy surface combatant Life Cycle support concepts and processes preferred.

·         Trade code and pay range commensurate with experience.
