1st and 2nd Class Marine Designers

Bath/Brunswick, Maine

 

We’re looking for Marine Designers to work on the design of the most technologically advanced surface combatant ships in the world.  If you have drafting, CAD, or trade (electrical, mechanical, ventilation, and structure) experience and are proficient with computers, we want to meet with you.  Our new Designers receive extensive training and mentoring with 3D solids modeling using state-of-the-art CATIA V5.  If you are enthusiastic and enjoy working in a teaming environment, you are encouraged to apply.

Description of Work

·        Spatial arrangement of equipment and furniture

·        Layouts of distributive systems (piping, ventilation, & cableways)

·        Development of ship structure and structural foundations to satisfy structural integrity

·        Electronic drafting of installation & fabrication drawings

 

Qualifications:

·        General computer skills (e.g. experience with Microsoft Office tools) required.

·        Ability to read, interpret and follow shipyard procedures, standards and work instructions.

·        Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

·        1st Class Designer- ($19.82-$23.46) Minimum of 7 years marine design experience or Associate/Vocational School degree with five (5) years marine design experience.  3D CAD proficiency required.

·        2nd class Designer- ($17.63-$19.00) Minimum of 4 years marine design experience or Associate/Vocational School degree with two (2) years marine design experience.  3D CAD or AutoCAD proficiency required.
