Description of Work:
This is an entry level non-supervisory buying position in
the Materials Division
·
Responsible for managing multiple complex
projects that focus on improving the BIW Supply Chain performance
·
Utilizes and maintains the BIW Material
Control System (BMCS), SAP, Ariba, and various P/C applications such as
Microsoft Project, Excel and Word
·
Coordinates the activities, develops
skills, and provides leadership in resolving material management issues
·
Interfaces with other BIW departments
to resolve issues affecting assigned projects.
Conducts meetings where necessary to resolve multiple party issues. Apprises management on issues of concern
·
Performs duties in accordance with BIW
acquisition policies and procedures, budget objectives and schedule
requirements
·
Establishes solid relationships with
supplier community while at the same time enforcing contract provisions and
resolving contract disagreements as required
Qualifications for Position:
·
Undergraduate degree in Finance,
Business or International Business and Logistics preferred
·
Three years of Project Management
and/or Lean process experience preferred
·
Experience in some aspect of supply
chain management preferred
·
Proven ability to effectively interface
and communicate internally and with other BIW departments. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills required.

General working knowledge of the
Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and
generally accepted acquisition principles
·
Proven ability to perform duties
independently
