·DDG1000 Area Team Supervisor on 2nd
shift.Responsible for the development
of multi-discipline detail design.
·Responsible for the development of discipline specific
models and drawings.
·Coordinate work with EB counterpart as required.
Communicate and interface as needed.
·Supervise designers in the execution of tasks.Provide guidance and direction.
·Ensure that tasks are completed to established
schedules and to budget.
·Work with the 2nd Shift Manager to evaluate design team
workload requirements and appraised of all design development.
·Report progress and status at various manager level
meetings and Departmental White Boards.
·Provide project analysis on cost, schedule using EVMS
principles, i.e. CPI, SPI.
·Ensure tasks are completed with the required level of
quality specified in the contract.
·Responsible for the development of assigned
personnel.Develop employee performance
evaluations.
·Administer the BIW/BMDA contract.
Qualifications for Position:
·BS or AS degree in a technical related field; or a graduate
of BIW’s Apprenticeship Program with 3 years
experience in a marine Engineering/Design related field; or a minimum of 7
years experience in a marine Engineering/Design related field.
·3D CAD or AutoCAD experience preferred.
·General computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Office suite,
required.
·Working knowledge of marine design products and processes.
·Ability to read, interpret and follow shipyard
procedures, standards and work instructions.
·Demonstrated ability to work multiple priorities.
·Strong written and oral communication skills.
·Demonstrated leadership experience.
·Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-discipline team
environment.
