Senior Specialist Finance

Detailed Description of Work:

· Ensure Austal and BIW adhere to the principles of Earned Value Management as documented in Systems Descriptions.

· Work with the Prime scheduling group to ensure cost and schedule baselines remain in synch.

· Perform as needed audits of Austal’s Financial Systems to maintain joint surveillance.

· Facilitate CPR Development for Austal. Ensure weekly data reconciles with monthly CPR data. Work with Austal to improve format 5 variance analysis processes.

· Closely monitor Austal’s monthly financial logs (Management Reserve, Budget Adjustments, Undistributed Budget, etc.)

· Develop rapport and good communication with Austal’s financial staff.

· Support and work with the Program Office while maintaining independent responsibilities inherent with Finance and Administration’s organization.

· Support the Integrated Baseline Review process and subsequent action item close out as needed.

· Support customer driven EAC requests for labor and material.

Qualifications for Position:

· BS: Business, Accounting, Finance or other related disciplines with an MBA preferred.

· 5 years of financial, auditing, estimating or related business experience.

· Team player

· Proven analytical skills.

· Effective communicator – both oral & written.

· Working knowledge of EVM software (Primavera, Cost Manager, Cost View) preferred

· Sound understanding of general business accounting.
