Keel laid May 21,1912, launched August 16,1913, delivered and commissioned September 19,1913. 

Reached 30.57 knots on trials. Complement of 6 officers and 106 enlisted. Assigned to Queenstown, Ireland in World War I for convoy escort duty. Decommissioned June 22,1923. Transferred to the United States Coast Guard June 7,1924 and redesignated CG-3, for Treasury Department to hunt for bootleggers during Prohibition. Returned to the United States Navy May 23,1932. Stricken from the United States Navy List July 5,1934 and scrapped the same year.

DD 43 Under Construction
