BIW Awarded Largest-Ever Single Contract-Brings $2B of work through 2006

BATH, MAINE –On March 6, 1998, Bath Iron Works (BIW) was awarded the largest single contract in the company’s history. The multi-year contract, awarded by the U.S. Navy, is for six more DDG 51 Class AEGIS Destroyers. It will sustain BIW’s current workload into the next century, bringing $2 billion of work to the shipyard from 2000-2006.
