Leadership on Hull 525, the future Louis H. Wilson, selected Preservation Technician Michelle Morrill to receive former Assistant Secretary of the Navy Susan Rabern’s March challenge coin. Morrill was recognized for her dedication and leadership on the future USS Louis H. Wilson (DDG 126).
“As an expediter, she trains and guides her fellow employees through the paint process as well as how to clean and prepare compartments for GI (Government Inspection),” said Front Line Supervisor Free Woods. “She also provides guidance to look out for processes that should be done before other trades do their work.”
BIW President Chuck Krugh presented Morrill with Rabern’s challenge coin on Friday, March 14. Rabern is a former Navy captain and a sponsor of Hull 525, along with Janet Wilson Taylor, daughter of the namesake. Each month, an employee demonstrating excellent performance on Hull 525, BIW’s first Flight III hull, is selected to receive Rabern’s challenge coin.
Morrill, who has been with the company two and a half years, said she appreciates the different aspects of her job.
“I try to come in every day and give it my best,” she said. “I try to be positive every day.”
